On July 3, 2007, Pepsi-Cola and the city of Johnson City hosted the 22nd Annual Independence Day Fireworks Celebration. This event attracts thousands of people to the grounds of Freedom Hall Civic Center each year, and the fireworks display, put on by Pyro Shows of LaFollette, Tennessee, never disappoints. The weather was perfect: cloudless sky, comfortably cool at sunset, and a light breeze. The show was fast-paced, running for 20 minutes starting at 9:55 p.m.
Prints of any size may be ordered from these images, and while it costs a little more, I recommend the Kodak Professional Endura Metallic Paper instead of the usual matte surface. Metallic paper makes colors seem brighter and bolder, almost as though the photo is printed on a reflective mirror instead of a basic white paper base. For a subject like fireworks, where the photograph is of a source of light (the explosion), metallic makes a huge difference. (Read more about the paper on Kodak's website.)
